Water & Wastewater Utility Diving Services
Looking for reliable underwater support

What we offer
Diving operations in potable water environments are governed by strict material and contamination standards. All tools, equipment, and repair materials that come into contact with drinking water must be compliant with WRAS (Water Regulations Advisory Scheme) approval requirements, and divers themselves must follow hygiene and decontamination protocols that prevent the introduction of biological or chemical contaminants into treated supply systems. In wastewater environments, additional biological hazards — including hydrogen sulphide, methane, and Leptospirosis — require gas monitoring, medical surveillance, and HSE-compliant confined space procedures throughout every operation.
TUF International's IMCA-aligned commercial dive teams are fully equipped and trained to manage all of these requirements — delivering safe, compliant water and wastewater utility diving services, treatment plant inspection, confined space diving, and underwater structural repair across drinking water treatment works, wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and storage reservoirs worldwide.
Water & Wastewater Utility Diving Services We Deliver
We assess the condition of intake and discharge points, checking for corrosion, blockages, or damage, and provide detailed reports to support maintenance and regulatory compliance. All personnel and equipment entering drinking water assets comply with DWI guidance and WRAS-relevant protocols for potable water asset access.
Key Services
Our divers remove sediment, algae, and other build-up to maintain optimal water flow and prevent damage to mechanical and structural components. Works are planned around operational schedules to maintain treatment capacity throughout — no process shutdown required.
Key Services
We clear accumulated waste, vegetation, or obstructions from screens, pipes, and gratings to restore capacity and protect pumping and filtration systems. Data is delivered in formats compatible with GIS and hydraulic modelling systems used by water utility asset managers.
Key Services
We perform underwater repairs to concrete, steel, and other materials, sealing leaks and restoring structural integrity to extend the lifespan of facilities. Post-repair NDT is conducted and documented as standard, with as-built records provided for asset registers.
Key Services
Our teams are trained and equipped to work in restricted spaces or hazardous water environments, ensuring safety and environmental protection at all times. TUF International’s wastewater diving teams are experienced in high-H2S environments, low-visibility conditions, and sites with biological hazard considerations — operating under full COSHH assessment and confined space procedures.
Key Services
We provide high-quality visual documentation to support inspection reports, helping facility managers make informed maintenance and repair decisions. Inspection reports are produced in asset management-compatible formats, including photographic condition reports, defect schedules, and video logs suitable for integration with utility asset management platforms.
